Geoffrey Forbes is a Desert Storm era Army veteran. He served from 1987-1991, and was a Military Intelligence NCO in Germany. He maintained a Top Secret security clearance, and led a team of linguists in carrying out a classified Cold War mission tasked directly by the National Security Agency. After serving on active duty, Geoff became a defense contractor, providing crucial information and services to United States Army Special Operations Command, NATO, Israel Defense Forces, The European Union and The United Nations. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master's from Purdue. He is a federally Accredited VA Claims Agent. what is an accredited claims agent?

Mr. Forbes is accredited by the VA's Office of the General Counsel to prepare, present and prosecute claims for veterans' benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs, from your Regional Office to the Board of Veterans Appeals and all the way up to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He had to pass a rigorous federal examination that required studying literally thousands of pages of veteran law, including Statutes (passed by Congress under Title 38 of the US Code), Case Law (precedents set by the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims), Regulations (Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations, set by the US Department of Veterans Affairs), and Directives (the M21-1 Adjudication Procedures Manual of the Veterans Benefits Administration). Accredited Claims Agents also must undergo a character review and background check. Lastly, they must take federally approved Continuing Legal Education regularly in order to maintain their accredited status. Additionally, Mr. Forbes is one of only 50 agents who have been admitted to the Bar of the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
